2013 Season Begins! On May 17th, we started the season on the newly repaired track surface. The fans saw the racers put on a great show! The drivers said the surface is much better and the races were all very tight. Fans witnessed victories by Thor McDonald and Rick Phillips in the Adult Clone Class. Oden McDonald and Christin Owens won in the JR II Clone class with Hannah McDonald leading in the feature until she was bumped by Owens on the last lap for the win. Jace Carter took the checkers in all three races in the Kid Kart Class. Track RepairsThe track surface is undergoing repairs! Racers will be very happy to soon be racing on a smooth track again. City crews have been working hard every day cutting out all the rough areas to be replaced with new asphalt, which is something needed for the past few years. Racing is hopefully to start Friday, May 10, at 7 P.M.
Karting has become so popular that you should be able to find a track near
you. Most of the major cities in the US have one or more tracks designed especially
for racing. This is really the most important element at this stage...finding a track you're
comfortable with.

Sprint Kart Speedway Adds a New Class for 2009We will be adding a new and exciting class to the track this year. The Blue Motor Class will be running for both Juniors and Adults. The Class will be made up of Blue Motors 6.5 HP sold at Harbor Fright Tools, they will be Box Stock. The class will have rules (see rules) as in the other classes and will be discussed at the first meeting March 3, 2009 at the Davenport Airport Terminal building at 7:00 p.m. We are talking to several people in the area who are already running this motor and other wanting to get into racing at a low cost. We have also built some karts with this motor and look forward to running them. This should be a very fun class and we look forward to seeing many racers get into this class. If you have any questions are at the meeting or give Steve a call. We look forward to the 2009 season and hope to see you all out there again for a great year.
